Our capacity development programs develop leadership and technical know-how!

If you are business looking to increase your in-house capacity, or an NGO looking further develop community capacity our consulting programs help your team develop  programs for engaged operational learning. The capacity of human resources in any project, in large part determine a projects potential for success. We develop these programs in three typical  formats, for larger more complex projects we integrate all three modes.

1: One on one and team consulting programs

Operational consulting can help clarify team members personal connection to a group mission. For those cultivating positive social or environmental impact programs, social and innovation follows personal development. As individual capacities grow, areas of inquiry are uncovered and layers of the ecosystems that surround a team come more clearly into focus. We consider this process gaining a higher altitude perspective on a projects ecosystem.   These programs typically have a commitment over a period of time with a few broad targets. For example 5 hours a month for 3 month of peer consulting can help aid in an aspect of awareness for an individual or team around a product or projects development.

2: Workshops and trainings

Workshops are typically conducted as a focused project with a core content, time frame and certain desired outcomes. Since 2002 we have conducted over one hundred workshops, from 2-3 hour introductions to Bamboo or earthen building to week long deep dives into the materials and methods of natural building. Our workshops try to balance information sharing from our team of trainers and their field experience with participation from the participants. Workshops help create an atmosphere for integrated learning, as hands on portions and healthy exchange between participants widen the perspectives of those involved.

3: Community inclusion and design Charrettes

A design charrette, is an intense period of design or planning activity that typically involved multiple perspectives from a project or programs impact  The word charrette may refer to any collaborative session in which a group of designers draft a solution to a design problem. We have used this process in dozens of settings related to integrating architecture and the human epierience.
